Spending each day with the children you have to teach them life long lessons. Teaching children to be polite, respectful, and use their manners. Teaching children right from wrong, good and bad will be key to success.
You have teach discipline which is one the hardest but most powerful thing. This being the hardest part also means you need to do it because the child is not listening. Usually something happens everyday you wouldn't expect. Something has small as the child spilling milk or spitting up on you.
For example the family I watch got a white sofa and the little boy took yellow crayon and colored all over the back of it. The child knows he can only color on paper so when he goes to color somewhere else I take the crayons and let him know that he is finished and we only color on paper.
