Charlotte Parent Article title: The First 2,000 days

This article talks about the amount of time between a child's birth and the first day of kindergarten. The early on ages are crucial to children and this is when the brain is forming, creating which could be a heathy brain or not. Babies are born with 100 billion never cells in their brain and the neurons must connect and communicate with each other in order to form the circuits that we need to think, learn, and succeed. In order to develop a healthy brain the child needs a healthy foundation, interactions, healthy relationships, experiences and good environment. Children need good health, strong families and high quality in early learning and school experiences to be successful later on in life. This resource is helpful because people don't know how important the first five years of a child's life is. This is appropriate because it falls into my age group. I think this resource can help people learn about the early years of life and brain development. It is a good resource with helpful information that can help families, parents and caregivers succeed.

3) BabyCentre Article: Developmental Milestones: Taste

This article talks about when baby's sense of taste develops which is in the womb. By the time someone is nine week pregnant the baby's mouth and tongue have formed and has taste buds. In the womb the baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid and naturally breaths and swallows this fluid which helps the development of the lingoes and digestive system. Depending on what the person is eating and drinking will pass through the bloodstream and go into the amniotic fluid. As the baby taste those guilds it experiences different flavors and smells. The baby will have sensitive taste buds when born but continue to get more as the baby grows. In the first three months a baby's taste is sensitive and will be able to tell the difference between tastes. Three to six months the baby will start putting toys in their mouth which is helping the child learn the different textures and taste. SIx to twelve's months after drinking milk the child will be introduced to solids and then eventually fingers foods. The article talks about the food preferences, how to get baby's to enjoy different types of food and have a better understanding of why the child cares what goes into its mouth. This articles helps parents learn about the milestones of tasting and eating foods.  It helps caregivers know what steps to take in order to follow the milestones. This is appropraite because my age is 12-24 and it talks about the foods to eat. I think this will help because at this age children can be picky but if you start the child out on the right track they may not have any trouble.

This article talks about the different theories of language development which are nativist, social learning theory, interaction theory, brain research. Children learn how to speak and understand language and use it to make sense of the world. When children are born they have the ability to differentiate any sound in any language system and by the first year the unused sound tend to drop out the repertoire. Social learning involves children imitating the words and language patterns they hear by watching and listening to the their caregiver. Interactionist theory argues that children need more than a desire to speak, and more than a model. In the article is talk about new advances in brain research which allow scientist to understand how the physiology of the brain enables human begins to learn language.
