Flexibility

This is key for each day. Everyday can be completely different. You may want to do one thing but have to do something else. Time flies by and you never know what can happen or what you may have to do.

For example: One morning I went into work and I wanted to take him strawberry picking but by the time I  got him ready and we started to drive he fell asleep and I could tell he was not up for it so we turned back around.

Another example is when I got to work and wanted to take him to half hour away to a kids museum but he was crying and didn't want to get dress so we ended up staying in the area.

Another example is when a child get sicks you still have to care for them and be flexible with the schedule to come in early if he cant go to school.

The hardest thing for me was having the little boy be flexible with his new baby sister. It was hard for him to adapt. He is doing great though and still as cute as can be!

  1. Well Courtney, very few people get to experience motherhood before actually becoming a parent - lucky for you! It sounds like you really love what you do. The responsibilities of being a full time caregiver and balancing an education is difficult work I am so glad that you have such a great family to work for. This was something I have been talking to my husband about considering for when we decide to expand our family - I am so glad you decided to blog about this topic. I would love to hear more about your specific days with the kids and all the excitement that happens day to day.
